Insane….we are throwing away decades of progress for literally nothing. The new bill is going to increase the debt by $3 trillion so it’s not like these cuts are saving any money at all.
Congrats to China on taking the lead in space I guess.

What does bold vs not-bold indicate on the graphic?
I feel like it’s hard to argue for or against cuts without the context of how expensive each program is. I don’t love the idea of killing New Horizons, but realistically what is it going to find in the next 5 years? And… what exactly does killing it mean anyways? Can we setup a script somewhere that just automates collecting data from it and publishing it for everyone to see on the internet, for any hobbyists to analyze whatever way they please?

I’m a registered democrat and in no way support this administration or any of its fiscal policies. I am all for science and the need for exploration…and don’t think wholesale elimination of programs without understanding the true costs is warranted.
But this graphic really is telling in terms of the sheer volume of NASA projects out there. Perhaps there is a need for an honest, pragmatic review and streamlining of these programs.
