      Overall a fairly balanced article, although I personally put more onus on the “radical flank” idea (a radical flank is necessary to make other moderate demands seem more reasonable) than the author does.

      Oh Ed, you sweet summer child. JSO didn’t “close down”, they rebranded to Youth Demand, just as Insulate Britain rebranded as JSO before them.

      I predict that Youth Demand will be just as irritating as JSO ever was, just with different focuses (the same as JSO just with Israel on top), and that they’ll then rebrand to something new in a year or maybe two.

      I’m convinced that this type of activist does more harm than good for a cause. The people that are onboard with that behaviour are already in agreement.

      It’s the rest that need moving off the fence. Disrupting people trying to get their shit done day to day. People that want to pick up kids, earn a living and generally scape by, only to be fucked over by some unemployed fuckwit gluing themselves to a road, it not the way.

      There’s many ways to protest and raise awareness. The mantra of any publicity is good publicity just doesn’t ring true here for me.
