  1. >On 12 June 2025, dozens of anonymous X (formerly Twitter) accounts advocating Scottish independence abruptly went silent. Many had posted hundreds of times per week, often using pro-independence slogans, anti-UK messaging, and identity cues like “NHS nurse” or “Glaswegian socialist.”

    >Their sudden disappearance coincided with a major Israeli airstrike campaign against Iranian military and cyber infrastructure. Within days, Iran had suffered severe power outages, fuel shortages, and an internet blackout affecting 95 percent of national connectivity.

What is this absolute garbage look at the source. This exact same post has been posted in r/europe_sub well.

    This is literal propaganda

  3. ‘’ The content mixed pro-independence rhetoric with populist criticism of the UK government, anti-monarchy sentiment, and solidarity with progressive causes. One tweet, which was viewed over a million times, stated, “the people robbing this country travel by private jet not by dinghy.”’’

Explains quite a bit if this is also implicated in the culture wars.

Edit – wow, you don’t like your own hypocrisy being called out, do ya? 😂

Interference in democracy is bad. But, I guess Iranian interference in Scotland balances out the millions of pounds and hundreds of activists bussed up from England in 2014 to campaign for a NO vote.

Would be better if Scottish democracy could be allowed to happen without organised manipulation campaigns, be they Iranian or English, but alas.
