Rich person: *contributes to fucking up country*

Rich person: “this country is fucked! I’m leaving!”

  2. Aaaand another one goes to the UAE. His interest is not in anything except his tax rates.

  3. OmnipresentAnnoyance on

It has gone to hell, but rich entitled people that don’t want to contribute to making it better can also go to hell.

  4. AccomplishedLunch794 on

    “When was it better”

    “In the 60s”

“What was the top tax rate in the 60s?”

    “97%”

    This guy probably

If he thinks that Britain is on a similar road to hell that Norway is, can we speed up please?

Are we certain that’s lot just an enchanted toby jug? Has anyone checked?

  7. >**John Fredriksen** (born 10 May 1944) is a Norwegian-born Cypriot oil tanker and shipping billionaire businessman based in London

  8. Fuck him if he doesn’t want to be here.

We shouldn’t bend over backwards to try and please people who hate this country

  9. Even Norway isn’t “hell” enough, in my opinion. I really want to see a world where there are no places left to go if you don’t want to contribute to society and hoard the wealth made from other people’s labour.

  10. > And he blasted working from home culture, saying: “People should get up and work even more, and go to the office instead of having a home office.”

Reading this I don’t think there’s a violin small enough to play musical accompaniment to his whinging.

These people are exhausting, always wanting us to work harder. And without being mean, his daughter seems quite intense, proper gave me a start.

  13. TheChattyRat on

Let us pay zero tax and make billions from your workers and use the infrastructure of your country or we are gone …

    Waste of space.

  14. exoskeletion on

“Gone to Hell” = no longer getting special tax treatment as a non-dom.

And quelle surprise, another pink-faced old white guy doesn’t like people WFH.

“Mr Fredriksen has moved his business out of London and is now said to spend most of his time running it from the United Arab Emirates.”

If you think that Britain has gone to hell but think the U.A.E is the alternative, I have a bridge to sell you.

Jokes aside, it really says all you need to know about the man. Why does he like the U.A.E?
It’s obviously because it is a tax free luxury playground built for people exactly like him.
never mind the slave labour or the human rights abuse that goes on daily over there, or that they are funding the war in Sudan.

He is a traitor who rather then just fuck off in peace, puts out a hit article to sow even more discourse and division. He and men like him who care nothing for the achievements of this country, since it does nothing for their bottom line, are the problem.

“The old non-dom tax system that has allowed wealthy foreign-born British residents to shield their overseas assets and income from UK tax ended on April 6 this year.”

So he complains about a system he contributes nothing too, then moves on when he has to pay his way.
Good riddance. He should never be allowed back.

  16. JohnsonFleece on

Whenever egregiously wealthy people are described on the news they’re called “rich” but whenever they raise taxes for the “rich” it’s never the wealthy “rich” that pay almost no taxes but the working class higher income “rich” that are already taxed to the hilt. The systemic muddying up of the terms doesn’t feel coincidental.

  17. >“It’s starting to remind me more and more of Norway. Britain has gone to hell, like Norway.”

Devastating to be directly compared to one of the happiest and most prosperous nations on earth.

Another fake patriot shows he’ll not make a relatively small personal sacrifice to improve the county he pretends to love.

Tax all billionaires out of existence.

From Wikipedia, he seems like such a nice guy

    > He made his fortune during the Iran–Iraq War in the 1980s, when his tankers picked up oil at great risk and huge profits.

    > After several years of arguments between the various lawyers, the case was settled out of court. Fredriksen had to pay a fine of 2 million NOK[18] for risking his crew’s lives

  20. Sea-Caterpillar-255 on

I am not rich. But I resent paying so much tax just for it all to be wasted on people who contributed nothing. So I don’t blame him tbh. I hope he comes back in a decade when we get serious about being somewhere worth contributing to.

  21. torryton3526 on

We can’t cure world hunger, not because we don’t have the money but because we can’t satisfy the rich.

  22. ProtonHyrax99 on

If Labour want an easy win, they should introduce an exit tax for wealthy individuals, the way Germany has.

    >You’re fucking off to the UAE? Alright, but you’re leaving 25% of the capital gains you made living in the UK here.

  23. Unlucky-Public-2947 on

He also thinks ‘Norway had gone to hell’ as well which probably tells you everything you need to know.

  24. **It’s ALWAYS AFTER THEY HAVE TO PAY 1 PENNY MORE IN TAX !!!!**

Fuck them. The country is on it’s arse because of 14 years of Tory incompetency and Brexit which this prick probably voted for.

  25. Billionaires complaining? What of those on minimum wage and those living on wages week to week. Would one feel economic impact with even half a billion? They just taking the piss and clearly no amount of money would be enough for them.

  26. I love how the media never covers the number of wealthy that return to the UK because the tax havens are awful places to live.

  27. I wonder if there is anything he could do about it…perhaps if he had some money or influence…oh well.

  28. Pay your taxes and ask your peers to end the race to the bottom on wages and cheap labour. C*nt.

If I knew working from home would encourage parasites like this to piss off I’d have started doing it YEARS ago.

  30. jailtheorange1 on

He’s 81 years old. What is the point of knocking your pan out still working? Sell up, live off the interest until you die. Who the fuck wants to work every working second of their life until they die?

  31. Click Bait.

Fredriksen’s main companies are based in Oslo. He will be consolidating the ones in the UK back to Norway to save operational costs. This has virtually nothing to do with the UK, that is just him blowing hot air for headlines.

His daughters are two of the most entitled people I have ever not quite met. Not quite because the flat refused to join a meeting where they represented their father because security would not permit them to drive right up to the door of St James Palace. Security was there because Prince William was giving a talk to the working group.

Also, his company has reregistered some tankers to a flag of convenience. These have been “sold” to a new shell company. This is so they can carry Russian crude.
    [https://www.lloydslist.com/LL1146196/Frontline-tankers-linked-to-Russian-dark-fleet-after-sale](https://www.lloydslist.com/LL1146196/Frontline-tankers-linked-to-Russian-dark-fleet-after-sale)

Over all, if ne never comes back to the UK, we are the richer for it.

    > “It’s starting to remind me more and more of Norway. Britain has gone to hell, like Norway.”

    This Norway:

    * 4th/5th for per capita GDP
    * 2nd for HDI
    * Low inequality by GINI

If that’s his hell then I don’t want to live in his heaven!

(As comparison UAE is 14th/21st for GDP, 15th for HDI, low inequality – so pretty good; UK is 28th/18th for GDP, 13th for HDI, medium inequality – so a bit worse)

*All sources are wiki only as I’m supposed to be working 😉

  33. I’m still not quite convinced we should be so very worried about people leaving who are taking more and more, and in particular more than the economy is growing so it’s a bigger piece of the pie. I don’t see any reason to believe they have unique skills we can’t replace as a society, possibly by more than one person, possibly better than the people who got in first, if they give up their spot.

  34. Agile-Day-2103 on

Wonder if he’s ever looked himself in the mirror (and at those around him) and asked why the country is going to shit?

  35. I also read this. And have saved it for later. He likened this place to Norway – the place with the best living standards for its people over the last decade at least.

“It’s starting to remind me more and more of Norway. Britain has gone to hell, like Norway.”

The place that EVERYONE in the developed world uses as an example of a well run country.

Yea f the Britannia Card, anyone supporting that and F non doms who care NOTHING about this Island.
