The crane collapse was captured in a livestream by Lab Padre on YouTube, a SpaceX-focused channel. Clips from Lab Padre were widely shared on social media, including on X, which is owned by SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether any SpaceX workers were injured as a result of the incident. Musk and other company executives didn’t respond to a request for comment.
A heads up about how multi-billion dollar corporations operate. Whenever there is an accident where people were potentially injured, if there were no injuries the company quickly gets out there were no injuries. For instance like how SpaceX quickly got out there were no injuries during the static test explosion.
But if the company makes no comment on the accident, it’s a good chance there were injuries. And the longer the company says nothing about the accident the more likely it becomes there were serious injuries.

Very shady indeed. Honestly if someone was on that crane when it collapsed, I can’t really see them surviving the fall.
Do you think one of the reasons Musk filed for incorporation was to more easily cover up this kind of accidents? The mayor is now a SpaceX vice-president. The commissioners are SpaceX employees as well
Uh oh did somebody forget to shred OSHA while they had the chainsaw in their hands? Not very good planning for the future, that
As it should be. Workplace safety should never be trivial.
Are these cranes spacex owned and operated? I’d be surprised if they were, usually these are contracted with a company such as Mammoet having a huge parking lot full or gear a few miles away.
i was under the impression that space x received a 950 million dollar fine from osha in september so musk bought himself a president in october. then gutted osha for his troubles.
Watch musk begin a campaign to end OSHA within the next few months.
As someone with construction background and the ability to use critical thinking as opposed to “space man bad” mentality, it is more than likely this was contracted out to a general who in turn hired a subcontractor, crane operating company. Therefore, Musk had no hand in this possibly life altering accident. OSHA would be investigating both the GC and the crane sub. Unfortunately for those that have so much media fueled hate towards someone that merely exposed overages in a country with trillions in debt, Musk or spacex likely has nothing to do with cause of the accident. This is just another unfortunate reality of a dangerous profession.
As a GC the actual focus should be on the people affected by the accident. Did anyone get hurt or even worse die in this accident? How do we help those people and their families?
It’s getting played out that events that have nothing to do with someone that a large group has been brainwashed to hate decide to misplace blame. It also takes focus off of what really matters, human safety.
Why can’t I find this video? Don’t see it on their site or Youtube, nor Google. Did it get taken down?
Anyone care to link me?
That means OSHA is soon to be dismantled. Been a good run guys. See ya in the mines!
People shitting on SpaceX for this have serious EDS
That’s not a good couple of weeks to work at Boca Chica. Like, that’s paranoia-inducing if you weren’t already nervous working there
It’s sad watching the whole company break down
Move fast and break things. Including human being apparently. Elon will go down in history for getting us 3/4 of the way to mars.
