If you flip the axis with North going to the left and South to the right, you get a visual very similar to the geographical map of Malta. Guess why?

What are your variables? This doesn’t tell anyone anything without more context.

Ah yes, Mellieha, the real cultural centre of Malta. Valletta is overrated anyway.

  4. Mela għax I forgot to add an explanation. The negative values aren’t negative values I just used them to calculate the “Southerness” as opposed to “Northerness”. These are the results from the survey I was conducting on what people’s perceptions of the localities associations with North vs South geographically and culturally. The numbers are a score out of 100 based on the answers people gave. More ambiguous or split localities are found in the middle. I realise the graph and map could have been made better.

Wanted to make the map colours a blue vs red gradient but couldn’t manage on excel. Also wanted to specify on the graph that it is North vs South

decent work BUT i wouldnt classify villages like zebbug/rabat as northern in any sense. the difference between a deep south guy and a normal Balzan well adjusted man is like comparing a Brazilian favela gangster to a central London banker…

Interesting to see how people place certain villages. Nothing too surprising, except for how some localities are more “North” then other Northern localities.
