How much of this is from the work/education/community service requirement? Frankly, I don’t have much of a problem with the idea that if somebody wants the government to pay for their healthcare and they’re able to work, then they should be working. It may be that they can’t find a job for 80 hrs/month, but the option of community service of some sort seems to mitigate that.

Wait, so how is my relative who had a stroke and is only supported via Medicare supossed to work 80 hours a month? His retirement savings were wiped out by medical bills from the stroke.
