At least a few other countries will be pushing humanity forward into the stars while Agent Krasnov goes about his mission of turning America into a pathetic laughing stock. There’s still a bright future ahead for the species, but the USA will no longer be a driving force. We’ll be too busy being terrified of foreigners and dying of preventable diseases.

  2. Fucking depressing. Making America worse than I’ve ever known it. There was so much hope for the future of space exploration as a kid.

  3. Good times. Great that we are just going to continue to get further behind in everything. Education just took a 6 billion hit, space will be unreachable by us, we are going to be stuck in the past for at least the next 60 years. Instead of working with the world and doing better, we are going to fall further behind in everything.

  4. New Horizons costs $15m a year  to operate.  Does anyone know where this money goes?  This seems quite a lot.

Before yall jump on me……interstellar exp IS important……..however, a 2nd to the needs of THIS planet, we need to focus on a colony on the moon, get out of this heavy gravity well, the moon can be a staging/engineering/launch platform without gobs of fuel…….news flash, we ALL live in a biosphere and we’re destroying it faster than we’re helping it, we have no other options to get out of here, interstellar is important but taking a 100years to get any where is way beyond our current tech level, we need to focus our resources on HERE and close in back up plans, mine the asteroid belt, mine the moon, habitats on mars, orbiting cities and such………we are exactly one planet killer away from extinction, 1 nuclear war, one mega virus, one cosmic super flare……….we’re stuck here with zero options to save human kind and no current feasible plan…….here here and glory be to interstellar exploration but we have planets in THIS system we know little to nothing about

I guess China will be the leader in Interstellar Exploration. Missions to Venus, Mars and Jupiter soon. Hubble class space telescope this year or next year.

NASA got decimated for billionaire tax cuts.

  7. nasa techs are just completely useless when it comes to interstellar travel

voyager 1 and 2 barely left the solar system after decades, they cant make a craft that’ll reach a star in a few years

the us government already has much better tech hence why they cut the nasa budget

  8. its military spending time again. wait until this cold war dies down and hope there are “saturn 5s” laying around.

You know, it sounds nuts, but I genuinely would not be surprised if the very wealthy have developed ftl or warp drive or something already, and are simply crippling public space research to keep us from coming after them on their paradise planet.

I mean, it’s hard to explain such cartoonish levels of evil with just regular reasons anymore.
