I mean this whole scheme is kind of deadly, bringing men with extreme war fighting capabilitys that betrayed there own country to fight for money… Yeah not sure how i feel about that
But i’m glad its closed down, they had over 4 years to register to be eligable, those who didnt register in that 4 year period don’t deserve to come on the scheme as they would just be trying to enter illegaly via a legal loophole like i suspect a bunch of them already are doing.
Edit : Nvm, seems the government agrees that even some highly specialized trained ones who were fully trained + funded, have no legal basis and are an extreme risk to the general public in the UK that over 2000 applications were just straight up rejected from special force units 🙂
I did some additional digging. The government is still processing 21,500 applications
The charitys and Dr Sara de Jong from the university of york complaining are just straight up frauds, claiming the UK government promised pathways for “20,000”, which we far exceeded, including allowing an additional 21,500 applications which are still being processed, and claimed we won’t ever hit even 65% of that target, which is just straight up lies

Can I ask why? I presume these Afghans are the people who helped our troops when they were out there? They should be allowed to resettle here due to their services and the danger their lives and families are in due to the deranged Taliban

Likely cost-cutting, the situation with a failing asylum policy is crowding out home office resources.

So the British empire destabilise the Middle East including Afghanistan, and complain when people flee and attempt asylum in UK. I think people’s qualms probably shouldn’t be with the person in a dingy here

There is a new route now, much easier and no paperwork required. Just get in a rubber dinghy from France

How can we give asylum to people from other countries but not those who fought alongside our own armed forces?

Odds this’ll become the next version of the Gurkhas?

If we’re going to piss-fart around in other countries, we should be sure to lock our own door. You don’t trash somebody’s house and then give them the keys to yours and expect them to treat it with respect.
