I said NASA was going to be dismantled. People laughed.

Good job “republicans” and good job non-voters, look how great we are.

    Elections have consequences.

The future of the species is at stake here. If we don’t make major strides in space exploration in the next few decades, it’s probably going to be too late. Then it will be up to the next intelligent species who builds a civilization atop the ashes of ours, hundreds of thousands of years from now. My money’s on orangutans.

I do not understand why they hate NASA so much, 3/4 of the money goes to Deep South states…

  4. The plan has always been to dismantle NASA and privatize space travel because if billionaires have a monopoly on space travel then they have a monopoly on the future of human civilization. Their goal isn’t Starfleet, it’s Weyland-Yutani.

  5. It is nice from trump to leave space to the chinese; at least from their point of view.

  6. Buzz Aldrin is a traitor at this point. Fuck all these guys and their offspring to the seventh generation.

  7. Imagine how boring, incurious, and lacking in wonderment of the universe these far-right ghouls must be.

They are such weird, ***weird*** people.

It’s like they’re some other species, walking among us.

Cancelling JUNO, a mission in active operations, is a simply massive waste of taxpayer funding. You and I paid for that satellite and its operation, every American should be furious at what they are doing to these programs.

  9. Yes, SCIENCE is the enemy people.

WTF is Team Trump’s problem with science, just that it includes climate science? $5 billion means a helluva lot more to NASA than it does to the entire budget.

Wasn’t this just posted yesterday? I’ve hid this submission like three times now.

Sent this to a friend of mine who loves space. All he could say was, “it’s good to have competition”.

Can’t ever admit that this administration sucks and is making crappy decisions.

  12. Going slow or suspending missions in development I can understand, but shutting down active missions? That’s awful. It’s an enormous waste of $$$. Congress ought to weigh in to save the active ones, at least, and the article mentioned the prospect of litigation.

Whoever decided on that fully fits the common stereotype of an out-of-touch government bureaucrat.

They’re anti-science, and if they can’t monetize something to their own benefit, they call it “waste, fraud and abuse.”
