It is true, but probably very rare, never actually heard of such case.

    2. Yes and no. During some national holidays it is required to raise a flag. However, if you live in an apartment building, there’s a person designated for this task, and the fine goes to them if they fail to perform the task. Also, I would assume people would get a warning before they would get the fine.

It is true, you need to raise the flag on homes/apartment buildings and government building( though many of them keep the flag raised all year long). My apartment complex has a flag pole with flag raised all year round as well 😉 Can you get a fine for not doing it? Technically yes but not very likely, never heard of such case 😀 although, if you decide to raise the flag of our lovely neighbor from the east not only you will get a fine but probably a burning house too 😉

    4. “Should regular people follow this law?” – are you implying that “regular people” have choices on whether to follow the law?…

    5. I had a heated discussion about this tldr; it is mandatory to raise national flag if you do not you get a fine. Couple years back coworker told me that there were some people in his neighbourhood who looked for houses which had not raised flags.

    6. It is a thing, yes. However, I have a feeling it is a matter of time before someone challenges the legality of this. Feels like an infringement on freedom of expression.

    7. So does this mean that you must have a flagpole? Or is hanging it vertically from a window or above a door OK?

In my village nobody bothered, until once police went trough and handed a bunch of fines. Now everybody does it there.
