There is no race anymore. The US and russia are done. Now, there is only China, with the money and resources to do anything in space.

China won today. NASA is underfunded and headless. China will lead the way, hopefully together with Europe.

The people saying “The US lost the space race today China wins!!!!!” do not know what they are talking about.
The NASA budget cuts are seperate from the Big Beautiful Bill. The NASA cuts were from the proposed FY 2026 federal budget, not the BBB. The BBB being passed does not affect these cuts.
In fact, the BBB might actually dampen the negative effects of the cuts on the US space program by providing ~$10B for NASA and billions more for the Space Force.
To be clear, I am not trying to advocate the BBB. The Bill as a whole is an absolute abomination, but it absoutely does help the US space program.
