Whelp ill be honest if having my ashes shot into into space to drift for eternity is an option id sign up in a heartbeat. Maybe in a billion years the genetic material is recovered and sequenced from bone fragments by interstellar alien critters or even be a part of panspermia ! Sounds fun.

  2. Why not sprinkle them in space and let the ashes burn up during reentry. Assuming they could burn up any further.

I would have rather had the capsule shot off into deep space or burn up on rentry. But to just sink to the bottom of the ocean. Pretty lame.

  4. It’s a tasteless, stupid and mawkish waste of money and energy all at the same time.

Why the actual fuck would someone’s ashes enjoy orbiting the earth before returning? It’s hardly a fucking joy ride for them is it?

At least this way they got scattered for free.

That makes perfect sense. If I had to live in a studio apartment sized habitat module for the rest of my life, on a surface of barren empty planet, I better be stoned for most of that time.
