  1. Bet old Nige was licking his lips. Got to take a swing at Johnny foreigner, mention brexit and add nothing of merit to an actual discussion

Yeah, the french are a not insignificant barrier to British goals in Europe, but pointlessly grandstanding achieves nothing. Does he ever actually have any credible solutions?

Corbyn in the back looking alert and ready to lead the nation with his new party.

  3. BPhiloSkinner on

Nigel does have the sort of face that invites shouting down.
…and is anyone getting a (bogus) security alert from clicking the link? I’m in the US on Windows desktop.

The way this headline is written implies this is rare at PMQs. (Then again I suppose the people it’s written for never watch PMQs)

  5. TheRogueSpectator on

Loving the comments from Corbyn in the background, highlighting the obvious dehumanisation tactics Nigel so frequently loves to employ.

“Fixing the mess we inherited” people have gotten sick of that excuse. Take some accountability Keir Stalin.

they’re all absolutely terrified of him, couldn’t be more obvious

he wipes the floor with them every time.

    Bring on the downvotes 😂

  8. Speaker not doing his job.

Because agree with him or not, if he’s been selected to ask a question, it’s the speakers job to allow him to ask it uninterrupted.

  9. BenButton123 on

One of the MP’s shouting him down is the bloke who stood up in Parliament and gave a pro cousin marriage speech. Depressing all round.

PMQs is an embarrassment to watch as an ordinary person. It’s pantomime

“ARE NIGE WILL BE PEE EMM!11!”

Fartrage is a charlatan. Out of his depth at every turn.

  12. Why bother having a speaker if he doesn’t do his job? All MPs should be heard in the Commons (even the terrorist sympathisers and cousin lovers in the background) its Parliament not a pub brawl.

  13. The absurdity of Brexit *taking back control of our borders* is that unless you are willing to machine gun women and children in the channel (which apparently the Royal Navy are not) sovereignty means **fuck all** when your borders depend on another country.

  14. How this twat was ever given a platform to communicate with the public after 2016 is beyond me.

  15. SirLurksAlot4 on

MPs need to grow up. Whether you agree with him or not, the way the MPs grunt, moan, shout, scream or whatever whenever any MP is talking is ridiculous. I know people will say “that’s how it works” but it shouldn’t.

Ali G was right. They need to start showing some RESTECP.

  16. Persona_Insomnia on

A weak man voted for by weak people.

It is horrifying to consider Farage might be in a position of real power in the near future. What’s more concerning is the people who vote for him.

  17. Terrible editing by The Independent which missed the whole point of why MPs were laughing

Starmer had finished his previous answer saying they’d be going after “the fraudsters, the grifters and the con-artists, wherever they are*, at which point he sits down and the Speaker says “Nigel Farage”. It takes a few seconds for them to realise the comedic moment, but the Indie has just cut out Starmers bit.

  18. Wow that was embarrassing from our parliament. The exact same MPs shouting him down are the ones that still can’t work out why the public are backing him.

Behaving like this doesn’t make them look strong, or in control. It actually gives off the impression that they’re afraid of democracy and don’t have any answers.

Just remember that he’s an ex banker. If you think he’ll look after us any differently to any other that’s fine before him, you’re in all likelihood, mistaken.

  20. Hellstorm901 on

Oh he actually turned up? I’m surprised he’s not in Texas trying to curry favour with the orange man

  21. They can shout all they want, but next election he will be the prime minister

  22. Artistic_Donut_9561 on

Isn’t that normal? It sounds like an argument down the pub sometimes

  23. I legit surprised to see comments agreeing with what I thinking for once. I do agree that shouting down MPs / Nigel in this case not a good look.
