Anyone pathetic enough to call the police, need to have a good look at themselves and get a life.
The fact that this needs to be a headline is a massive facepalm moment.
Anyone who reports someone using their hosepipe should have their hard drives check immediately.
Amazing people need to be told not to use 999 for this… the state of this world.
it’ll be retired wee busybody types. take their Winter fuel allowance off them.
Maybe it’s time to discontinue 999 altogether, they might have a point here but generally they don’t seem to like us asking them to do anything.
If you see someone using their hosepipe, no you didn’t.

The hosepipe ban is only in Yorkshire at the moment, most of the UK is free to have water fights right now.
AKA. “We don’t care, we agree with the rest of you this is bullshit, that this privatised water mess is a shitshow and they’re all scumbags, we’re just not allowed to say so. It’s not our problem, they’re a private company who’re meant to be providing a service on a contract you’re paying your side for”

You would hope the 999 call handlers would tell them to bugger off.
Snitching on your neighbors for using a hosepipe is peak sad behavior, some people really need to find better hobbies. Maybe redirect that energy into something useful, like volunteering or touching grass.
Giving some people the tinyist amount of power breaks there mind and turns them into petty tyrants. You see it with reddit mods all the time.
For the two walks a day monitors; isn’t operation snap enough for them?
This might be a daft question but is it only using hosepipe or just watering the garden completely?
Water companies lose between 15-30% of their water through leaks. Hosepipe bans have been shown to reduce water usage between 8-10%. Golf courses who use batshit crazy amounts of water are also exempt from the ban.
I’ll continue to water my garden I’ve spent thousands on which has bees and pollinators everywhere you look.
