    >In a joint press conference with the Prime Minister on Thursday, the French president said the British people had been “sold a lie” that leaving the EU would “make it possible to fight more effectively against illegal immigration”.

Cannot wait for the Brexiteers to reignite their Francophobia and show how out of touch they are with most of the good people in the UK.

Brexit was never about illegal immigration it was about legal immigration from the EU that we needed control of – which we now have.

    What. An. Idiot.

  3. Why does the media always talk about people “blaming” Brexit?

It’s like they are trying to suggest that there is any question about the undeniable facts of Brexit’s detrimental effects so far.

It was almost a decade ago. We need to stop the culture wars tribal nonsense, admit we made a terrible error, and try to navigate this while also having a pandemic and global tensions rising.

But obviously we can’t make cuts anywhere, they went for the wealthy and the media cried. Now they’re pushing the “millionaire exodus” which has been threatened since the dawn of capitalist media. It was the same apparatus which provoked Brexit in the first place.

“Blaming” Brexit is disingenuous and the blame really is on the ultra-wealthy who pushed all this through by sheer media control. We unfortunately seem to have fallen for the idea that we are still a “British Empire” without realising how much we relied on Europe as an outcome of the war.

Now we aren’t in that Union and this small island is just that. We now see just how bad this is with the necessity we have to bend over for the true superpowers – turns out its not so nice on the receiving end.

The media is to blame, and Brexit was the result.

Yet it’s happening in every western country in the EU, except Poland?

  5. It nothing to do with Brexit.

I think it mainly due to Merkel and her opening the gates. It caused massive migration into Europe

  6. Standard_Response_43 on

    He’s right if U 🤔.

UK had more power in immigration control within the EU than out of it.

If U follow the the money, who would benefit from the largest increase in legal immigration?

  7. Well, yeah. Our border used to be on the French coast. Now it’s on our coast and, boom, Sangat goes seabourne.

  8. broketoliving on

he’s 100% right nowhere else do illegal immigrants get free hotel, food, days out, driving lessons, healthcare, phones, weekly cash and then benefits for their families.

all while working illegally cash in the hand paying no tax

  9. There’s zero excuse for France letting those people go into the channel on shitty little boats risking their lives. Nothing to do with Brexit, just France would rather we deal with them even if we were still in the EU.

  10. Why would Brexit affect immigration, if our economy is going down hill because of it then surely this would make the UK less attractive.

Or is the rise because France reacted spitefully and wanted to punish the UK over Brexit and are deliberately working against the UK interests.

Macron should say how it is and openly admit it’s Merkel’s fault and her idiotic “Wir schaffen das”

  12. Flat_Revolution5130 on

Because the french letting them cross the border on purpose ,so its not there issue is clearly Brexit.

  13. Unusual_Ad_9544 on

Let’s not get it wrong here who started this?! It was merkle inviting millions to the eu without any say so from any other country

  14. Glittering-Walrus212 on

Macron has pulled an absolute blinder on this visit. He’s gotten what he wants for a tiny price.

  15. How’s illegal immigration going in France? They like to focus on Brexit, but they’re still in the European Union, so what’s their excuse for uncontrollable immigration?

  16. Immediate-Scarcity-6 on

The reason people voted for Brexit was due too labour flooding the country with immigrants and illegals who were committing crimes and police doing nothing….macron is talking bollox and we’re paying this clown millions too supposedly stop them coming but there helping them…yeah fuck off macron and starmer ,Tory’s your all too blame.

  17. stinkybumbum on

Classic French answer. Last I went to France it was unrecognisable from 15 years ago. Paris tourist hotspots lovely but if you venture away the place was a dump, a bit like London to be fair

  18. Its somewhat true.

The most crossings we had in a single year pre 2020 was 1800 in 2019.

Then the brexit deal went through and in the years that followed we had: 8500, 28,000, 45,000, 29,000, 36,000, 38,000.

Previously, all the people originally rejected in the EU went elsewhere once they were rejected, as once theyre declined in 1 EU country, they cant reapply in another.

Now they come to the UK for a second chance and usually get it lol.

So more and more migrants are travelling deeper through EU towards UK and especially into France.

  19. Helping the illegals into Britain, offsetting their own illegal problem on to us. Brexit, sure mate

  20. spank_monkey_83 on

I thought people voted for brexit so we could regain control of our territorial waters so the
fenchies couldn’t just pass their illegal immigrants onto us?

  21. AntsInMaiPants on

People voted Brexit because we want control over our own laws and because Eastern European immigration we were fed up of.

If the government had any balls or sense of decency for us they’d get out there and drag every boat back to Frances shores. Not a single illegal immigrant should be getting in.

Legal migration is also off the charts, we need a reduction in this as well.

Pushing down the quality of life for the working class is what unskilled immigration does.

  22. Cats_oftheTundra on

Maybe stop the fucking boats you cunt. People are supposed to claim asylum in the first safe country they come to. Unless the rest of Europe isn’t safe?

  23. Brexit is literally to blame for the rise: migrants who fail to get asylum in the EU can just try again in the UK
(Or just get on an e-bike and start delivering food)

  24. SeiriusPolaris on

Somehow I’m certain even if Brexit didn’t happen he’d put the blame on the UK.

  25. sausagemouse on

We definitely didn’t get the small boats crossings in the numbers they’re at before brexit
