I hope people remember this the next time people say Labour are just as bad as the Tories

This is misleading. I’m on a waiting list and recently got a call from the NHS trying to pressure me into taking myself off it, asking if I still needed the op or if I’d thought about going private. Felt like a push to drop off the list, not to help me.

I’ve spoken to someone who works on the waiting list targets, they confirmed there’s a big “cleansing” effort going on. People being removed for not answering calls or being nudged to opt out, all to make the numbers look better.

waiting lists will go back up after the junior doctors have their strikes…… just like under the tories!!

  4. None of these are numbers to be proud of. The NHS backlog is almost as twice as big as it was pre-pandemic and waiting times are absolutely insane. It’s not going down fast enough.

This is basically the same as those 0.1% upbeat news articles except in reverse.

Real credit goes to all the medics and support staff working their asses off.

It’s been a rough year for Labour. Of course, we have 3+ years to go until the next election, and if I can be convinced that liberal Labour is making progress, then I think most people can.

  7. Just need to reset the waiting lists to zero and get everyone to rejoin after consultation, you would soon find 90% of the ops are not needed.

  8. These Reddit stories going to stop immediately come the end of July and the doctors strikes. Just some Labour staffers getting their last few articles on the NHS out

  9. At this rate it would take them 20.5 years to chew trough the backlog.

The NHS and labour deserve a standing ovation indeed

I can’t even begin to comprehend a 26 month waiting list. I live in Japan and my waiting time is practically 0.
