      Since these articles are churning out how we must adapt to AI one has to ask the question, how will society react to such a challenge? 

      Are we going to see UBI? 

      Or are we going to see a more grotesque form of capitalism play out?

      The most cost effective cutting would be to replace ceo and higher management with ai.

      They talk about Ai like it’s some unstoppable force of nature instead of a tool humans created and can determine how best to use it for all of society.

      Indeed and Glassdoor are both garbage and deserve to die. If they get to stagger on for a few more years as AI slopbots, honestly it’s a shame they don’t just rip off the bandaid but whatever it’s not like we’re losing a great collection of work

      These CEO are saying they can achieve more with less.

      What they fail to understand is that it means you can start a Indeed/Glassdoor competitor with far fewer resources.

      All these shareholders and upper management rubbing their hand at the idea of a short term increased profit are up for some big, soon to come surprise.

      We’re at that point where not just products but company itself is in enshittification. Soon some company would advertise itself as with premium Human Customer Care.

      It’s mostly just enshittification.

      They have a large enough number of users and enough name recognition they are confident they can coast on what they have.

      Maximise short term profits by cutting a bunch of staff, throw in ai buzzwords so no one realizes this is corporate raiding at it’s worst and they have doomed the companies.

      Get ready for the second quarter since Donald Trump started his second term that we’ve lost jobs. The last time a President had multiple quarters with job losses? Also Trump. Republican presidents are anathema for the economy.

      I really think that as this stuff keeps happening, the public sentiment will sour on AI so much that companies that replace workers with AI will start suffering

      Soooo what’s going to happen when all these companies have 10% of their normal workforce and unemployment is at 40% and the shareholders are unbelievably wealthy

      The irony of a company whose revenue depends on humans getting jobs deciding to eliminate humans having jobs is not lost on me.

      Why these companies employ so many people in the first place? Aren’t they basically a simple website?

      We have to keep in mind that to train and run these large language models takes the same amount of electricity that it takes to run 40,000 homes.

      And this is happening while the administration wants to cut back on green energy.

      So not only are humans losing their jobs, but to replace those jobs you’re using AI agents that rely on ludicrous amounts of electricity and water to keep the servers cool .

      Corporations may be saving a couple bucks, but definitely not in the long-term
