    As a kid i used to dig big holes in the sand thinking i could reach Australia

    A teenager in Italy died from this recently. He and his brother dug a massive hole, brother left, whole thing collapsed and kid suffocated to death. His father was the one who dug him up.

    Anything over 1.5m is a crush risk and wet sand is unstable at angles greater than 45 deg.

    I liked the warning not to dig a hole too big in case you fall in and hurt yourself. Thank god they warned us

    Please remember to also fill in the holes at the beach before you leave. It’s a tripping hazard and won’t be clearly visible in shallow water
