Hello,
I’ll be traveling to Norway this August and would love to capture some of its beauty with my drone (Mavic Air 2).
I’m aware that it’s totally forbidden as flying a drone in the city of Oslo requires prior permission, and I definitely don’t want to be “that person” who ignores the rules.
I’ve been following the guidelines here:
https://rise.articulate.com/share/H0ZTFmqESotDUeD3ndHHPz1mjeainQKK#/
They mention the need for liability insurance and a valid drone operator license. I hold a certificate of competency issued by my EASA member state, but I was wondering—where can I obtain the required liability insurance for flying in Norway?
Also, is this map (https://nsm.geodataonline.no/sensorapplication/) the one I should refer to before flying? Or are there other official maps I should be aware of?
Lastly, if there are any hidden requirements or lesser-known rules I should know about (besides not being a total douche), I’d really appreciate the heads-up.
Thanks in advance!

I’m going to Norway in October, and plan to buy liability insurance from Skywatch.ai. $1m US is about $60 for the month.
Use app: Ninox Drone to file flight plan. Easy and makes your flights safer. Registration required!
Foreign aircraft planning to use airborne sensor systems over Norwegian territory are required to notify the Norwegian National Security Authority (NSM).

Do us all a favour and leave your drone at home. We really hate it when people disturb the silence of our nature with the sound of a drone. When there is no other noise, the sound of a drone carries for many kilometers. So people you don’t even see will be disturbed by the noise you create.
Could you just not please?
Norway hates drones like the plague. Please leave it at home. Drone flyers are considered douche bags.
