  1. ძალიან კარგი თუ გააუქმებენ. რუსეთის სწორ ნაწლავში ყოფნა და თან უვიზო ევროპასთან ანაქრონიზმია

As always EU punishes citizens instead of those who are responsible for the situation. The same mistake as with russian sanctions in 2014 instead of punishing huilo and its minions directly and in really painful way.

So GD members and Russian oligarchs and their relatives get to have houses, businesses, schools, universities and good lives in EU, meanwhile actually pro-european population gets punished and our vacation destination is Moscow and St.petersburg now?

With this step EU is throwing Georgia even more under Russia’s influence. Makes you think whether it is an arranged decision with Russia.

Any step that moves Georgia away from EU is a step that moves it into Russia, no matter who makes this step.

TBF, if EU thought geopolitically, there would be neither Russia-Ukraine war nor Georgia with pro-Russian government, so nothing entirely surprising.

I guess they want undecided Georgians to see how much of a failure GD is as a party in terms of dealing with the outside world. It makes them look like losers in managing and negotiating, especially considering the progress of Armenia and Moldova… It also gives their supporters another reason not to vote for them again.

I know it’s painful, but maybe this is the way?

  5. If they did or even “threatened” back in December or January or even February, it could have impact on protest. Now it’s too late.

Visa free was great. I managed to travel to 13 European countries during this period (some of them multiple times). Cool times.

  6. Was it expected? – YES

    Is it deserved? – Absolutely

Is it a good news for regular people? – NO

It’s super sad but that’s the only way while Hungary blocks everything against GD regime.

The issue is that we get Russians and other post Soviet people travelling to the EU using Georgian forged documents.

At least I’ve heard that: Georgian mafia is working with many Russians and people from former Soviet union to enable them to come to the EU.

And it seems that there are multiple new airline connections from Russia to EU via Tbilisi.

Simply there is a lot of doubt about controlling EU borders when Georgian gov/mafia is working for the Russians.

  8. This is a major blow to the general population — which, I’m guessing, is exactly what the EU Commission intended from the start.

But — and it’s a big but — we’re now seeing a complete cutoff from the civilized world. This will only make it easier for GD to spread their propaganda. The level of brainwashing happening here is absurd (I had a brief conversation with my brainwashed parents).

The state’s control over what its voters think and perceive has reached a point where I genuinely believe the country can’t be saved until the generation that lived through the communist regime dies out.

So overall, I’d say we’re cooked for at least 10–20 years — and that’s me being optimistic.
