Racist with a racist history dating back decades only pretended to be sorry and lied to our faces about being sorry.
Shock.
Starmer needs to kick her the fuck out yesterday.

Looks like Abbot actually is the racist she’s been made out to be all these years.

Start of the article
>In her 2023 letter to the Observer, external, Abbott wrote that Irish, Jewish and Traveller people “undoubtedly experience prejudice” that is “similar to racism”.
Deep into the article
Ffs BBC she didn’t say they experienced _different_ racism, she said they _didnt experience it at all_
Starmer needs to get rid

She didn’t say Jewish people, Irish people and Travellers do not experience racism. She said they do in a different way to black and brown people, who are more obviously visibly different to white people. Is that wrong? Because it seems self evidently true.
>She added: “Clearly, there must be a difference between racism which is about colour and other types of racism because you can see a Traveller or a Jewish person walking down the street, you don’t know.
>
>”You don’t know unless you stop to speak to them or you’re in a meeting with them.
>
>”But if you see a black person walking down the street, you see straight away that they’re black. They are different types of racism.”
>
>Asked if she believed she had done anything wrong or had said something in her Observer letter that she did not believe in, she said: “I just think that it’s silly to try and claim that racism which is about skin colour is the same as other types of racism.
>
>”I just… I don’t know why people would say that.”

Claiming some people suffer a more blatant type of racism due to the colour of their skin is one thing.
Dimissing Antisemitism or prejuidice against travellers as akin “teasing someone with red hair” isn’t really on.

The evil right-wing media is at it again! They’re…reporting on and exposing racism.
Friendly reminder that sometimes the left screws up and the left is to blame for that, not the media.

I remember reading the article. Nothing she said was wrong. Everyone experiences racism differently. The same way women experience sexism differently. This was just a bunch of people that wanted to get back at her for supporting Corbyn!

She was so upset to hear that Sir Keir suspended people yesterday and it wasn’t her. How dare they claim her spotlight of most irrelevant irritant?

Dianne Abbott has to genuinely be one of the thickest politicians of all time.
The two different shoes incident has got to be up there as one of the funniest political photos I’ve seen.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone actually try to deconstruct her argument, just a lot of bad faith reading, shouting her down and condemnation.

A history of hypocrisy, racism and dodgy maths. Add Up is one of those MPs that you wonder how they keep getting elected.

She belongs in a care home, not parliament. This is getting embarrassing.

different groups suffer different forms of discrimination, fact.
but by clumsily trying to exceptionalise anti-black racism she’s potentially belittled the discrimination faced by others
that said, I can think of far more blatantly racist comments made by political figures that caused nowhere near this level of response

She wants to be suspended so she can join Jezza’s new party.

She literally called the IDF the Jewish Defence force a week ago and nothing was done about it – bewildering that she was ever allowed back into the party. Anti semitic number-messing up clown.

Stop being harsh. Diane Abbott thinks IDF is a do-it-yourself shop. Leave her alone.

She worded it pretty poorly, but does anyone actually think that the racism experienced by jewish people and travellers is the same as the racism experienced by black people?
I think it’s funny that this sub is so quick to call Diane Abbott a racist for this given the amount of islamophobia that is constantly displayed here everytime a story about a muslim or someone of middle eastern descent is posted.

Her comments here make sense. I don’t understand how saying what she says equates to her being racist.
