  1. This shit should be illegal. No bonuses or pay rises outside of the inflation if you can’t deliver a basic service. This goes for all services that should be nationalised.

How the fuck is a “Long Term Incentive Plan” **NOT** a bonus?

    Criminal

I understand people hate this. But this is a miserable salary for such a big company. No one with any skill will take the job, their name is going to get dragged through the mud no matter what happens.

It’s going to be very hard. Would any CEO take this job knowing their career will be over afterwards? Looking outside in is so easy.

  4. We really need to bring in surge fines for these companies as everyone is on hose pipe bans and they are paying more out to the boss than fixing pipes.

    1 pipe £1 a day

    2 pipes £2 a day

    3 pipes £3 pound a day

And so on untill all the pipes are fixed and no more is wasted on bonuses for the bosses who refusing to do what’s required for the people of the UK in drout conditions.

Let’s make an example of them.

Hmmm, this really hurts as I received a text today from SW saying I need to increase my DD by nearly 100% from £37 to £71. I go to my account online and it says I need to increase it to at least £101 to not go into debt with them.

My account also says I use £1.38 worth of water on average a day…

Water companies in England are a shocking example of corruption. They really should be brought back into public ownership.

  7. OFWAT needs to be investigated for total complacency / incompetence at best, corruption at worst.

If I were to venture a guess, it would be the latter.

Ah so this is why my DD increased from ~£60 to ~£90. Fucking fantastic that extra money is being used for “infrastructure improvements”.

  9. At this point, I have more respect for the local alcoholic, sleeping in a ditch soaked in his own piss than a water company CEO.

At least the alcoholic isn’t pumping industrial quantities of human feces into our beaches while greedily stealing the money I’m forced to pay to his company for the privilege of bathing in shit. Presumably.

  10. It’s time everyone on any board of any water company in receipt of public money in the form of bonuses are forced onto a debt repayment scheme until the money they’ve stolen is returned.

They should not be allowed to receive a penny above base salary until these problems are provably fixed and, should they not agree and withdraw, they should face prison time for their betrayal of the nation, theft of public money and for the ecological destruction they’ve caused across the _entire_ nation.

They’re enjoy their millionaire lifestyles paid for by OUR taxes and, I don’t know about you lot, but _I WANT MY FUCKING MONEY BACK_.

    Make Accountability Great Again.

  11. Modern problems required modern solutions.

No bonus, let’s just add it to your salary.

Laughs in capitalism, clouds turn black, lightening strikes, the rain falls as the windows shake under the pressure of local thunder claps, the eyes in the boardroom all glow red.

  12. LOL. Of course they did. It’s owned by Macquarie which is the same group that sucked Thames Water dry & left it with huge debts

  13. God, they so flagrantly don’t give a fuck. They brought in prison sentences with the new water act, use them!

Can we stop tutting at the sideline and actually take action? I don’t know, stop paying our bills on mass?

  15. Anyone else on board for a nationwide strike on paying our water bills?

We are just being utterly mugged off.

  16. Everyone needs to contact their MP and tell them they want change and removal of water company contracts. Water needs to be under public control, it should never have been sold off in the first place. Anything that is a basic need should not be in a company that is privately owned.

Easy to see why so many in America celebrated that CEO getting shot, feels like we aren’t far from people doing something similar here. £1.4m for running a water company into the ground and getting this pay rise mere weeks after increasing people’s bills by 50% is actually gross AF.

  18. Despicable. They have upped their bills by over 50% citing that the increased costs is for “environmental reasons” as in they are no longer allowed to dump waste into rivers.

Glad to see their passing the cost and then some onto forced customers.

    Why isn’t this nationalised again?

what does this say about the regulator and their opinion of what they think Labour – ‘the party of the people’ will do about this blatant fraud? Absolutely disgusting. Mr starmer, prime minister, sort this out!

Do they just have meetings about how they can get the boss more money?
