Hi,
A question for people that have driven this route before. After coming off the ferry at Horten, what would be the most optimal route for most scenic/beautiful roads to drive towards Stavanger? Any tips from someone coming as a tourist with a car?
Is the ”normal” route aka E18/E39 the way to go or should I take any detours somewhere for more nicer looking scenery-roads?

The inland part definitely just because it is completely different from the shore. And maybe you will get the same kind of scenery we have between Oslo/Bergen
The middle route and the top route are really pretty. Hills and lakes and some rock formations and some farms, creeks and rivers and waterfalls, really calming nature. Some one-lane roadways there. The southern route is boring from Oslo to Kristiansand unless you take two days and stop at the various waterfront towns along the way. From Kristiansand to Stavanger has some extremely pretty sections.
