Is this a one off cost as looks a bargain compared to previous annual EU membership fees? Hopefully the £4.7bn is going to predominantly UK firms.

From what I understand we can’t actually check all of the imports at the point of entry, as there isn’t enough space to build the facilities to process them, is that correct?

This is actually of huge benefit if done properly and long overdue regardless of being in the EU – although no doubt like everything it will be a shambles and waste of money.
Imagine the amount of problems we would solve by having robust borders to reduce weapons/drugs and criminals entering the country.
Most of these problems are imported from elsewhere.
I await my downvotes from the Reddit open boarders crew.

Hey that’s only £90 million a week. We must still be in profit. I’m sure the NHS won’t mind a small pay cut to compensate as it must be pretty flush.
