We had two major polls in 2017 and 2019* to make Corbyn PM and he lost, the second time handsomely.
Last year we had a big poll to make Starmer PM and he won a landslide.
So I’ll take this one with a pinch of salt. Danny Dyer is more popular in our household than Starmer but I wouldn’t want him to run the country.

Well, yeh. Starmer has to do things that may make him unpopular.
Corbyn just needs to promise stuff and not make hard choices.

Election results tell the same story.
Why is the news playing catchup with what people on this sub have been saying since before even election results backed it up?
Popularity doesn’t translate to anything, though. Look at Farage, who’s also more popular than Starmer. Has he got any worthwhile and workable policies? Nope. Just popularity, plucked from the swampy clefts of a gaggle of self-offering buttocks.
Sadly, winning elections isn’t about popularity. It’s about having ‘just enough’ popularity in more places. Being well-liked in places where some productive people live means fuck all compared to being kinda tolerated everywhere.
Meanwhile the only people anyone has to ever appeal to are the ones who own newspapers and TV channels. They are the ones who disseminate the narrative, control who knows what and how people are allowed to think.

It’s irrelevant, Corbyn needs to be more popular at election time not now.

Corbyn got more votes in both 2017 and 2019, and a higher percentage of the vote in 2017. Starmer was never popular, infact he reduced the amount of votes Labour got! He only won because the Tories destroyed themselves with Partygate and Truss and had their base split by Reform. If Corbyn had somehow stayed on as leader he would have won 2024 with a similar margin to Starmer

In other breaking news, ‘imagining everything working out for me’ is more popular than ‘having to deal with things being tough’.

The big problem with Corbyn for me is his stance on Ukraine. It’s not a difficult war to pick the “goodie” in, Jeremy.

Jezza Corbyn would have revolutionised Britain but instead we get more Tory policies from the Tony Bliar wing of the Labour Party. Labour needs to do a hard reset back to traditional policies that made the party great for Britain. We need to renationalise all things that devil Thatch privatised and legitimise Unions in law again. Let’s undo 45 years of Tory shackles on our nation.
