      Most of these lot aren’t responding to actual material reality, they’re responding to shite they’ve been wound up about on local Facebook pages and other social media.

      I’ve told the story before about how people on my local Facebook page entirely manufactured a conspiracy theory about Romanians trying to snatch kids from outside the local supermarket. It was complete bullshit, but a lot of real people, under their real names, happily participated for attention. And we’re seeing that sort of thing across the country now.

      2000 counter-protestors against 300-400 anti-hotel protestors. 3 people arrested, 2 from the protest, 1 from the counter-protest

      The right is rising fast because people are seeing that the government has to make cuts and raise taxes whilst watching the government spend 3.1 billion on asylum accommodation.

      I’m not even against immigration I think it can be good when managed correctly but I can’t justify that much being spent especially when I’ve been in these Hotels where asylum seekers are staying and I’ve watched them mistreat the staff and trash the rooms. (not all but enough to make me think what an absolute shits).
