They said the moon would be covering mars. I see here it looks like it's quite the distance on it's own

Can someone explain this and why they are telling people to look especially tonight rather than another time?
How is mars visible far right of the moon tonight?

Mars moves. The moon moves. The earth moves.
We all move in circles around the sun (mars and earth) or around the earth (moon).
In all this endless movements, sometimes things happen to line up. Like night, if you looked at the moon, you could see mars just next to it *waaay of in the distance*. (Mars is bigger than the moon, but because it is so far it looks much smaller)
You had to look last night, because by tomorrow, we, the moon, and mars, will all have moved and things won’t line up anymore.
