It’s the final week of the presidency of Andrzej Sebastian Duda. According to the latest CBOS poll he’s the most popular politician in Poland. What do you personally think of his 10-year presidency?

    1. A meek politician, who mostly embarrassed our country on the global stage, allowed for Trump to treat him like a lapdog

    2. Created from nothing by Jarosław the Almighty, boy in short pants thinking of himself as a Big Statesman, funny puffy pomposity, finally – debil.

      Managed quite well in the last 10 years considering that he have got both pandemic and war in Ukraine combo

      genuinely nothing, only real good thing I remember recently was vetoing the anti-hate speech law

      He had a chance to stood up for himself when war in Ukraine started. He tried, but in the end the weight of the situation broke him.

      He will be remembered as a weak president with a weakness to making weird faces and pretend someone whom he is not. Lost opportunity.

      He pretty much always did what his party requested of him, although I suspect he was more resolute than Nawrocki ever will be. So even though I despise PiS, Andrzej Duda might have had been acceptable imo

      Hard to swallow but considering who’s next we will most likely miss him. Even though he was a horrible president.

    8. I honestly thought he would go down as the worst president yet, but it appears Nawrocki will be even worse.

      Weak character, on party’s leash for most of the time. Party whose main goal was to manipulate people while taking a whole big pie to themselves. He gave a face to that. Ukraine war was a big chance for him to change that image, and he used it quite well. But we won’t forget. He helped pis ruined this country.

    10. He was doing quite well during the pandemic and at the beginning of the war in Ukraine, but he was often drawn into political games at other times. There were many embarrassing situations that strongly affected his desire to be a statesman (because he certainly had ambitions).

    11. Under polish wacky definition of free speech, publicly stating what I think of the president would be a crime.

      But I think we will be missing him pretty soon.

    12. Sorry to say but whatever image of his presidency you have it is totally fake. This is one of the worst presidents post fall of communism. Fully dependent and obedient to one political party – especially its formal and informal leader.

      Not sure if you are aware of the background but there are two main parties in Poland – PiS (Law and Justice in direct translation) supported mostly by less educated voters, usually deeply religious (similar to Republicans), having more pupulist right wing orientation. The other one is PO (Civic Platform) – more center liberal supported by mostly educated voters living in cities, enterpreneurs etc.

      Duda is supported by PiS, what is more post his presidency even worse person was elected: Nawrocki: also fully dependent on PiS, even more right oriented with suspicious past.

    13. Liiked him much better than Komorowski. People here will hate him for his association with PiS, but the way he presented himself as country leader was not bad at all.

      He seems to be well-behaved, clean guy, unlike Nawrocki.

    14. I love to watch him when he plays angry strong man, cant stop laughing.
      Otherwise he has no political power, just like this guy before him and the one which is coming after him.

      Accomplice in the PIS takeover of the judiciary, which wouldn’t have been possible of he followed the law on judicial appointment stuff

      Lost time for Poland. He was and still is destroying law and democracy in Poland. He was keeping criminals in presidential palace so police have to get in xD. Piece of debil. As a human he is scared little boy that have to scream and make stupid faces to feel accepted, important. He never grow up to something greater then puppet of Kaczyński. Only when he was afraid that law by pis party can hit him personally he doesn’t sign some bills. Weak, manipulative, caricature gestures, low self esteem, easy to full, spinless character with no real values. Made to satisfy dictator Kaczyński.

      Promising at first, turned out to be absolutely fucking terrible.

      Although compared to Nawrocki he most prolly will look like a national hero…

      Man did a great service to the country by being a joke for a decade. Legacy of memes, nothing more. To give him a little send of

      Th..th..this isss… the the the best president in.. the the word.

    19. The only good thing that I can say about him is that there is so much funny memes with him. Oh and maybe “Nie pytają cię o imię walczą z ostrym cieniem mgły” is… Not terrible?

      The good:
      * Quite good relationship with Ukraine (pre war mostly but still he is advocate for them in his party)
      * He was blocking taking media concession from TVN(which would harm our relationship with USA)
      * I think in topic of Poland security he was quite cooperative for every government
      * He was probably one of most representative President so far(not a lot of public fuckups)

      The bad:
      * He was weak in his own party as a president
      * He was super partisan
      * He didn’t actually do that much in international politics (compared to government)

      The ugly:
      * Pardons
      * Not defending/destroying courts
      * Not defending abortion consensus
      * Blocking government in international politics by not allowing to change ambassadors
      * … Probably more I don’t know about

      I wonder how many minutes we saw his wife speaking during those 10 years? Two minutes maybe?

      Fun fact: Apparently he vetoed the most of his own party’s bills out of all 3rd RP’s presidents.
