I am planing on going on a solo trip following the route in the picture. This might sound really dumb but would it be safe to go on this trip alone? I also plan on hitchhiking if possible in some locations. I am from Macedonia and here albanians and macedonians dont like eachother very much and there are tensions. Maybe i am just over reacting?

Is there tension between us? I have some macedonian friends and they never mentioned smth either. About hitchhiking: people don’t pick up hitchhikers here a lot so always have a plan B for when taking the road (public transport).
No one will bother you as long as you dont look out for trouble.
Dont do alone hitchhiking in theth as the territory is a bit dangerous. You could easily slip somewhere and be in trouble. Road to blue eye un theth is wonderful but for me it was dangerous. Cellphones dont work much there.
Check with the hotel you are staying because government destroyed illegal buildings and you wont have a place to stay.
Its a first to hear trouble Macedonian and Albanians but i dont think you will have trouble as long you dont break the law.
