      It’s not nostalgia everyone is getting sick of being used and is decentralising the features of their smartphones. Phones used to be fun and useful now it’s just a means to get every penny from you.

      I feel like I see one of these articles every few weeks. And the author did a good job of fleshing out why people should choose to stop using a smartphone. But I have yet to see anyone rocking a 2004 Motorola Razr in public.

      Honestly I get the whole dumb phone thing. I hate the idea of wasting all my time on my phone, but I already have pretty good time management skills anyway. To be honest I kind of see it as a “crutch for bad time management” but in a very loose sense

      Skipping songs on my MP3 player was my social media scrolling back in the day, I think I’ll be happier going back to it.

      Yeah, I might consider getting rid of my smartphone down the line to be honest. I’ll only keep one around for authentication apps and the likes. A dumbphone and my computer can do the rest.

      Interesting article, like many others on the topic, but this one actually touches on the deeper issue driving the whole retrotech/dumbphone comeback. Also where it stems from (Arguable?)) It also points out the limitations of dumbphones themselves, which most pieces gloss over. Worth a read (and yeah, definitely use an adblocker). Makes me wonder if this nostalgia wave and more attention to “Cognitive boundaries” could end up shaping how future tech is designed, maybe pushing us toward more intentional, less addictive digital experiences?

      I am still searching for a dumb TV that only displays and nothing more but OLED and 85 inch so i can attach a Android Box with 16GB RAM, because even the top tier TVs get slow after installing 10 different apps

      Still use my ipod classic to this day. Download new music often, it’s so nice not having to worry about Spotify’s BS and knowing I’ll have my entire music library for as long as I have my hard drives.
