The protesters got nothing better to do, maybe reading the latest where’s Wally for example.

Feels like the Guardian is desperate for a riot, the amount they report on it.

Given it’s the first weekend of the new football season I imagine most disorder will be footy related rather than political

Will the police deputise anybody as I’m available. I’ve got an excellent Adolf tash, clipboard, whistle and rather arrogant stride. I’d make an excellent pig.
I’m available Saturday between 13:00 and 20:00, and Sunday from 12:00.

I suspect it will be a damp squib. Anti-immigrant sentiment is high across the political divide and some with more extreme views are looking for a fight. It is also a Saturday in the school holidays, the weather is looking decent, and football is back on for all leagues bar the Premier League. It is those small things that will stop a lot of people rioting and keep them at home for a BBQ/down the pub. It is like how A&E is always much quieter on a nice summer’s day.

I wonder if they’ll start looting Greggs and Shoezone again. You know, to protect women and girls.
When this was first posted, there were several comments from people with legitimate concerns regarding the level of immigration we are experiencing. They weren’t calls for violence. They weren’t racist comments. But they’ve all been removed?

If it’s going to be peaceful protest, why is it at the hotels? It’s not like asylum seekers are gonna see them and go “Well shit, guess I have to go home”. Surely a government building would be a better place to protest, unless your goal was to target the asylum seekers themselves?
