‘I feel fully confident from what I see every day, broadcast through my phone’

If ever there was a statement that fully summed up and condemned the state of 2025, it’s this one.

A reminder that you are free to support Palestine by protesting and advocating for the people of Gaza as people have done every day and every week for nearly 2 years now.

While I don’t support Palestine Action, I hope people understand the gravity of the proscription and why we need to support those who are risking their careers and livelihoods to oppose it.

This is the first time a group has been proscribed SOLELY because it is causing “serious damage to property”. Even the counter-terrorism report says that this is the only relevant clause that the Home Office can proscribe them for. When the Terrorism Act was introduced, people obviously objected to this, but the Labour government said at the time that it won’t be used against direct action groups, but rather it’s intended to target those who damage properties for the purpose of harming or killing innocent civilians.

25 years later, after Extintion Rebellion, JSO, Youth Demand causing all sorts of disruption and havoc to our lives, the government has not invoked this clause before, but they have used it now against Palestine Action.

Why? Because proscription allows them to do one thing that other legislations can’t: ban them from speaking in any public forums, online or offline. It also makes any organisation speaking about Elbit System’s complicity more risky than before. This is a blatant attack on the freedom of speech.

Which is why these pensioners and the man here are fully deserved of support – they are showing how unworkable the anti-terror legislation is, and why the “serious damage to property” clause should be removed entirely. If the government is allowed to get away with it, any direct action groups can legally be proscribed as terror groups, shutting down a significant element of protests against government.

    > “We must remember there are no “extra” police officers. Officers are emotionally and physically exhausted. The demand is relentless. And it’s not sustainable.”

Yes that’s the bloody point, random people who previously didn’t even know PA existed are now willing to break policing and the courts on a point of principle. That’s law making right there, what the people want they get in the end, no need to resist it. Just accept the state is in the wrong and the people are in the right and this stops.

It’s a strange one because they can freely protest for Palestine, and no one would care to stop them.

But these individuals seem less interested in protesting for Palestine and more interested in protesting their support for a particular group (PA).

It feels like they care less about Palestine and more about supporting more extreme acts of protest.

A reminder that not only did PA cause up to £7 million pounds of damage, they put pilots at potential risk of death by damaging aircraft.

If these acts were allowed to continue, they may have also set a precedent where military equipment becomes legitimate targets for protest.

People neglect the seriousness of their actions. It has nothing to do with censorship but protecting lives.

It’s funny how these people never protest against hamas. I bet they’re not starving.

  7. These protests are basically the equivalent of a group of schoolchildren telling each other they can’t all be punished if they stage a mass walkout.

Could someone clear this up for me

You hold a sign saying you support Palestine action. Illegal. You can’t support a terrorist organisation

You hold a sign saying you are protesting against the government proscribing Palestine action as a terrorist group. Legal? Since you aren’t showing support for them?

  9. You can support Palestine without supporting Palestine Action, millions of people around the world have for over 2 years now voiced support for Palestine without being arrested yet he was

This proves it’s not about silencing people supporting Palestine, it is exactly as the government said it is, arresting those supporting a terrorist organisation whose actions have not helped the Palestinian cause in any way and have instead been about attacking the UK most recently damaging military aircraft with no connection to Israel
