      Yes, it seems a little short-sighted to give a drug addled billionaire fascist (a man who is openly seeking to foment civil war in the UK) a position of power within our national infrastructure.

      With that said, I fully expect Ofgem to approve this.

      I’m normally in favour of competition as it often benefits the consumer. But not this.

      Edit – I don’t take Musk to be a trustworthy actor, but the Starlink 2023 accusation is untrue. My bad.

      Tesla can supply energy in the UK, providing there are iron-tight rules about service interruption. I.e. if Musk deliberately interrupts power for any reason other than a UK court order, then the UK immediately nationalises Tesla Power UK’s entire infrastructure.

      I don’t think we’re exactly in a position to be turning down energy suppliers. Fossil fuels are only going to get more expensive in the years to come

      I have a sneaky suspicion that part of the motivation is to establish a UK based company so he can legally funnel money into British politics.

      Alongside banning Musk from supplying energy from homes, we need to raise concerns about Palantir, Peter Thiel is a thousand times worse than Musk

      I do some work with a solar panel installer, and the Powerwall home batteries are genuinely really good products, but none of the customers want them any more. It’s 100% because of Elon and I have zero sympathy.

      I guarantee he wants to do an Uber and operate at a loss which would only make things worse long term honestly. They’re not even hiding their oligarchy these days.

      He did remotely turn off someone’s Cybertruck for making a song about it so maybe if you say the wrong thing he cuts off your power.
