    It must be terrifying just existing at that age. Every night before you go to sleep I’d be convinced I’m never going to wake up.

    It’s difficult to comprehend that someone who was already in their thirties when WW2 was happening is still alive today.

    If I have the same luck she has I’ll still be here in 2110. I doubt it though. Historically the men in my family don’t see 65. Then again they all lived off whiskey and Lambert & Butler.

    Only the very wealthy will enjoy this in the future. Good luck funding a decent care home to this age if you’re on a pension kicking in nowadays. She’s from the generation that got gold plated pensions that pay a great sum until death.

  8. Unless she started work at 10, been living off your taxes for longer (56 years, state pension age for women was lowered to 60 in 1940) than she ever worked for.
