This week, the full renovation of the second underpass of the Eagle Bridge – the one that connects the princely garden to San Stefano Street is also completed.

The place is completely transformed – from a dark, abandoned and vandalized tunnel in an illuminated, secure space, a center for expression of creativity and social causes. ✅ A brand new ceiling: Instead of putting an expensive and perishable suspended ceiling, as it did in the previous government, we restored the original, which is more than 10 times cheaper and much more resistant to vandalism. ✅ New, energy -saving LED lighting. ✅ Restored CCTV: We have renewed the maintenance contract to ensure the safety of the site after more than three years of non -working system. ✅ Art panel: There are already 20 art panels in place of the scratches, some of which have works of talented children from the social services of the Sofia Municipality. In the sustainable repair of the underpass, we invested about BGN 150 thousand for comparison – in the old way of working with suspended ceilings and inefficient cost control, such repair was about BGN 1.5 million.

Thanks to Traicho Traikov’s people and district "Sredets" for joint work and quality implementation of the project. This underpass is another example of combining function and culture in urban space, which we strive to apply wherever we renovate the urban environment: ↗️ from abandoned to safe spaces. Our goal is that the underpasses are illuminated and secure, where people feel comfortable, not just pass quickly. We achieve this with modern technologies and effective repairs. ↗️ from vandalism to cultural centers. Instead of fighting reactively with ugly scratches, we support street art. Our subways are already platforms for expression of creativity and social causes, becoming integrated cultural spaces accessible to all. ↗️ From waste to an effective investment. We use cheaper but more sustainable repair methods because we believe that public funds should be managed smart. Instead of spending money on repeated repairs, we invest in long -term solutions.

This is our transition from reactive to a proactive approach. And yes, change does not always happen as quickly and apparently as we want, but I believe that good results come with consistent action. The next few subways, which we will restore with the district mayors are in Izgrev, Oborishte, Poduyane and the one in front of the Sports Palace.
