> Hundreds of sub-postmasters found guilty as part of the Post Office Horizon scandal are to have their names cleared, after the law quashing their convictions was approved by Parliament.
>It was one of the final bills to pass before MPs break up ahead of the general election in July.
> The law applies to England, Wales and Northern Ireland – the Scottish parliament is to pass its own bill to quash convictions.

> The passing of the Post Office Horizon System Offences Bill means all convictions will be quashed of people convicted of theft, or false accounting between 1996 and 2018 while working in a Post Office using its flawed IT system.
One thing I don’t remember seeing is anything relating any genuine fraudsters, perhaps there really weren’t any and every one was a wrong conviction.
Could there be a number of people who are going to have their convictions quashed because it’s now impossible to determine if they were fraudulent or not? I presume this is a similar scenario to say a faulty speed camera, they need to cancel everything as they can’t rely on the data.

I can’t think of a better use of air quotes than “Joy”. The people up top deserve everything that’s coming to them. It’s too little too late for the victims but hopefully we can see the bosses sent down.

Aware this was fast tracked through parliament for Royal nod during “Wash Up” this week due to GE.
Makes you wonder how quick parliament could go on ALL the other bills if there was impotus.
