Got this waffle at a Dnt cabin and the staff said the topping is locally made. I didn’t hear him well but it tastes like some kind of cream cheese. Now i’m looking to buy some to bring home.

It’s probably rømme, a norwegian milk product. It is good with jam on waffles-:)

Sour cream is a popular topping on Norwegian waffles.

But it looks like they added some cinnamon or something – perhaps a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar? I am just guessing.

  3. I also immediately thought of Innerdalen – best waffles in the world there! I think it’s seterrømme which is a very high-fat thick sour cream. If it’s Innerdalen, then they make it locally there, so you won‘t find in the shops (can buy the store-brand one, but it’s not the same)

  4. Would guess either rømme or maybe gomme? Namdalsgomme is often soft served with cinnamon.

    Was it sour or sweet?
