Really? Didn’t anyone even think in English for a moment when they had to create the logo for the child protection consultancy office?
Jokes aside. I really wonder who thinks of these things. I don’t mean to be malicious, but I know English like many Swiss, and I wonder how it’s possible that no one thought of it or said anything.

Interestingly, roughly only half of the swiss population speaks english fluently. Which is much lower than scandinavian countries. But yeah, either some people wanted to have fun by failing to reject the idea, or they were all equally clueless.
You laugh, but are actively spreading their logo, and website. The marketing is clearly working
Oh no, languages exist
The play of words here is “cumpass”, as in compass. “cum”, as in latin (Romansh descends from vulgar latin), means “with”
There’s also e.g. a [cumpass culinaric grischun](https://www.graubuendenviva.ch/de/wissen/cumpass-culinaric-grischun).
Well, imagine living in Manchester neighbourhood Chorlton cum-Hardy and explaining to others were you live 😅.
I mean, that’s just the word for compass in Romansh… what are they supposed to do, change their language just because a word could be perceived negatively in another language?
They’re real gooners 🙌🍆💦
My favorite is the ads for german classes written in. . . german. LOL if I can read your ad I probably am not your target market
yeah a word in language X can have a different meaning in language Y…
the English “gift” means poison in German and the English “bite” means dick in French
It’s fine wth. It’s our languages ?
I think, it’s just as fine as “FFS” for our trains.
Is it possible that some languages don’t bother about how it sounds for people that don’t live there and aren’t going to change their whole vocabulary to fit childish reactions?
Do you know that the train in Locarno is called Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi FART?
Try asking an Eastern European about the OSRAM lighting company.
cumpass DENIED
In Ticino these things are especially bad… We have several companies with embarrassing names.. here are just a few:
* Tits (Tecno Impianti Termo Sanitari)
* Fart (Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi)
* Dick (the company name is “Dick e figli” (literally “Dick and sons”) but the logo is just “Dick”)
* IMWET (real estate company)
It’s a cringefest down here
imagine seeing this in Wankdorf
The goooners can’t keep getting away with it!
In french, “bite” means dick, we don’t ask anyone to change all the packaging with the word bite on it.
Could it be just a touristic initiative?
They’re just a bunch of Helldivers up there: Thats a C-01 permit.
For Super Earth!
