Graphic by me created in Excel, all data from the US International Trade Administration here: https://www.trade.gov/us-international-air-travel-statistics-i-92-data
I've created similar graphics comparing Vegas Tourism and Canadian Tourism over the past month. This attempts to look at broader international tourism by measuring all (Non-U.S. Citizen) air travel to the US.

I’ve created similar graphics comparing Vegas Tourism and Canadian Tourism over the past month, but wanted to more broadly measure international tourism trends here. This measures all Non-U.S. Citizen inbound air travel to the U.S. by month.
I highlighted each July for easier comparison, and also summed the total (from January to July) each year as another point of comparison.
Dang, what happened in 2020?
3% loss YoY…from the reports, I thought it would be a LOT worse. It’s also interesting to see a 5.54% YoY increase in U.S. Citizen departures to International locations.
Interesting – not as bad as I would have expected, but still below pre-pandemic levels.
Does this include connecting flights? Where I live, connecting flights from Canada to other places are cleapest through LA, but we dont stay there.
Would a flight to another country that stops in LA or another hub could as “Air Travel to the US”?
According to Reddit the US tourism has dropped 89.6% from last year 😂
Need to separate out US Permanent Residents and possibly even dual intent residents (H1B, L1 etc.) to really gauge change in foreign tourist numbers.
well, it seems like after-covid recovery has ended, and the market is saturated
I mean, from a cursory glance at the source, this doesn’t seem to differentiate between tourism and work visits. (Or I missed something)
I don’t have the time right now, but looking that up and adding it to the numbers would be quite interesting, especially since many people in this comment section keep talking about tourism specifically.
