My mother was gifted this photo frame and her friend who gifted is from Bulgaria. She said there is a story behind this frame but never heard back from her on this. So wanted to check with my Bulgarian friends here what is the significance of this picture.

There is a Bulgarian song from commie times: “One Bulgarian Rose”. It is basically about a foreigner comming to Bulgaria and taking back a single Bulgarian rose, the scent of which will remind them of all the beauty they have seen here. I don’t know if your mom’s friend had that in mind, but could be?
