Pet recycling guidelines state only drinks bottles can be recycled. Would this mouthwash bottle be considered safe to recycle?

    Can’t find precise information anywhere…

Does anyone here have any informed idea?

Usually, if the product is not meant to be consumed by drinking it. Then it is not PET and must be recycled with other plastics.

    2. There should be a plastic identification symbol on the bottom of the bottle. It will have a number telling you which plastic it is.

Look at the bottom of the bottle if you see a triangular PET sign. If yes then PET. Otherwise regular plastic bottles, you can throw it into a plastic recycling bin at Migros or Coop

    4. It either goes into the collection bin for plastic bottles other than PET (i.e. NOT the yellow-blue one) or general waste if no such collection is available.

Always check the bottom of bottles, they have a triangular logo where the type of plastic is marked.
That way you see if its PET or HDPE or whatever

    6. My local déchetterie has a specific area for recycling plastics that are not PET drink bottles / not Milk bottles. However, this can only be done at the déchetterie (which is 10km outside of the town and can only be reached by automobile).

The normal recycling spots in town do not have a bin for these odd plastics.

This in a town run by the Greens, they do nothing for the environment really, it is all lip-service.

If it’s pet and has oil in it, like for example the salad sauces then it goes in the bin. Most salad sauces have a bin symbol even though they have a pet triangle on the bottom

The reason being that recycling centers can’t guarantee that people are thoroughly washing the containers.

It’s the same with deo sprays. technically they are aluminium but it is not guaranteed that they are always fully empty thats why those go in the bin. shaving foam is alright though.
