  1. Whats to support?

The only one doing a hard days work is Princess Anne.

The Queen commanded so much respect because she was one of the worlds most experienced diplomats and worked every day of her life, and only had to step back on public duties when she got cancer in her 90s but still kept up her work with the government. Thats the kind of work ethic that gets respect and support for the monarchy.

The others are just dead weight living off the public expense without earning any of it.

  2. Prince Andrew and the queen playing off his victim probably didn’t do much for popular support

  3. Truly no reason to keep it going. Let’s keep the cool buildings, have the people get real jobs.

  4. Support yoyo’s Charles is hardly the most approachable kind of monarch, and has had a bit of time with the press (most of it somewhat deserved). When William takes the crown young family slight more engaging kind of person it will probably swing back up a bit.

“Support”? The thing about monarchy is you don’t have a choice. They don’t need “support”.

  6. The King of England is meant to protect his country, his subjects and be the defender of the Church of England.

He’s doing none of this, so why should we show him any support.

  7. I for one still support it.
It is an institution that goes back a thousand years. The people come and go some bad, some good, some forgettable but the throne is eternal. For as long as there is a throne, there will be a United Kingdom.
Why should we destroy this legacy for what? Just for the vibes?

  8. Grifting slum landlords… just ask people in their Duchy’s. Terrible people earning millions from them whilst the population struggles. It must end. France most visited country by tourists yet no monarchy just cool buildings. We have the same but with added expense and grift from the Windsor family; who at best have a chequered past. #NMK

  9. Well what do they actually do except for be rich and maybe gain London a little tourism… nothing really.

  10. Personally I’m unconcerned until there’s a majority for a specific plan for what to replace it with. Australia showed that’s not remotely an easy ask.

  11. Yes they add zero value.

They’re entitled people who are on the most attractive benefit package possible. It’s ridiculous that one family does nothing & gets everything, whilst another family puts in everything & gets almost nothing.

I can’t imagine the silliness of royalty standing firm for generations to come. Eventually they’ll pack in all the nonsense

    Foreigners?

Living over here and not paying towards the system?

Some of them are sex offenders?

I would have thought all the Brexit voters would be calling for the end of the monarchy a long time ago.

  13. From my perspective, ever since Diana died popular sentiment for the Monarchy has sharply dropped. Even more so since the death of the Queen.

  14. The only reason I support it remaining in place is the level of tourism it brings, I think we lost any real diplomatic weight it had when Lizzie died.

  15. The question is, what’s going to happen if the support figures keep getting worse and worse for these guys.

Come on it’s only 132million a year for old sausage fingers Windsor and he comes with his own set of palaces so we don’t even have to house him, he cuts those big ribbons to open super markets and that’s not nothing plus no one keeps the foxes down like a royal. Pays for himself really
