Look you can hate him all you want; this is a good idea though. This is exactly how Putin is funding the war. Its also why hes going after Venezuela and trying to cut deals with the Saudis – to drop the price of oil, with another side effect being lessening Putin’s ability to take advantage of oil prices being high.

    2. I’m quite sure he wouldn’t do jack shit, it’s just an excuse for him to not do anything sanction wise.

    3. It’s a cop out. Best way to pressure someone drop some trade is secondary sanctions. Sanction russia and countries that help reselling their oil, make it a non viable product. What trump is saying basically amounts to newer

    4. And I guess some other stuff that needs to be in place, and then he’ll act, maybe… well, he likely tutt a lot and then talk about all the trucks delivering materials to build the White House ball room, and then point out how nice the roses are before telling everyone how good a bloke poo tin is, in true TACO style, and that it was all probably a mistake…

    5. But with winter coming Trump has offered nothing to prevent Europe’s future energy crisis if they comply.

    6. It’s an impossible condition. The Trump administration knows it. It’s basically having your cake and eating it too. He isn’t willing to commit to anything. We know Hungary will not abandon its connections with Russia so does Trump. Not to speak of Slovakia or Turkye.

He’s using the Putin tactic “make an impossible condition, then pretend you were reasonable and good faith. It’s your fault not mine.”. Putin did the exact same thing during mediation prior to Ukraine’s invasion. He said he would be willing to pull troops back if NATO shrinks its borders pre-1996. Any half-aware person knew this was an impossible condition. Thus, Putin can blame NATO and say his hand had been forced.

Trump’s only policy is “what’s in it for me?”. It’s not rocket science.

    7. I love this schizophrenic approach he takes:
-Nobody should buy Russian oil! Also, I really don’t like that Slovakia and Hungary are now suffering because Ukraine blew up Russian pipeline and they can’t get Russian oil any more!

    8. we, the EU should have removed the veto and federalised while we still had a chance, now external powers like the US, China and Russia are going to play us against each other like a fiddle
