Ranstorp is the head of research at the Stockholm College and one of Scandinavia’s most profiled researchers on terror and extreme Islamism. He lifts his eyebrows over the information Dagbladet brings today:

Bhatti explained in detail in the Oslo District Court last week. There he is charged with contributing to serious terror after the shooting in downtown Oslo on June 25, 2022. He denies criminal charges.

Bhatti’s online activity has been a central theme in court. A chat group on the Whatsapp messaging service was recorded a number of times, both in Bhatti’s own explanation and when the prosecutor asked him.

The chat group was called “Matgled and Quality Time”, and contained Matapour, Bhatti and two friends of them. One of these Dagbladet has been able to connect to Marius Borg Høiby and his circle of friends.

The man is 49 years old and from Lørenskog. He has previously been convicted of participation in the acquisition of 2.9 kg of amphetamine and methamphetamine, as well as sales of 1.1 kilos of cocaine, 800 grams of amphetamine and 2 kg of hashish. The court pointed him out as leader of an amphetamine league.

The morning after Zaniar Matapour carried out the terrorist attack in Oslo on June 22, 2022, according to Bhatti’s explanation, several messages in the WhatsApp group.

The new information – that Marius Borg Høiby’s party friend was one of only four participants in the private chat group of the man who carried out terror in Oslo – causes the experts to reinforce their warnings.

“This increases the risk,” says BI professor Petter Gottschalk (75), who has researched organized crime.
