One of my best memories is taking my wife my 5 year old and my 2,5 year old to a stargazing event up in the mountains where light pollution is not a great issue. The still talk about the galaxy and looking through telescopes

It took me a second to understand what you was talking about, and man.. I’m happy that I live in Norway. I’m just used to the night sky being pitch black, to the point that the Milky Way is obvious to the naked eye in the winter sky.

This makes me appreciate growing up in the early 90’s, when you couls still get a night sky absolutely full of stars.
The fact I grew up in a third world country which had regular blackouts helped a lot, too 🤣

Pics are low quality, but that’s not the point. The point is someone had a wonderful epiphany of connection to the depths of the cosmos.

Although both Earth and WoW have night skies in it, this is not World of Warcraft. Pictures suggest this is actually from Earth.
