Polling consistently shows it to be the case but it’s Farage so we must deny.

“statement of truth becomes controversial when said by bad man”.
Anyone who thinks islam in its current form (especially the interpretations we commonly get here) is remotely compatible with British values is so deluded it’s unreal.
People will undoubtedly mention the high level stuff like terrorism, killing people, slavery still being ok in islamic countries but you can do even the small stuff.
How many Muslims won’t stroke a dog?
How many wont shake your hand if you’re gay/the opposite sex/ on your period?
How many use their bare hands to wipe when going to the toilet?

For those in denial, just answer one question.
Would you move to an Islamic country from the UK, and why or why not?
And there you have your answer.

A lot on this sub will be contorting themselves over this, because they hate both Farage and Muslims.
It comes under “I’m not surprised he believes it, but I am surprised he openly said it”.

There’s nothing quite like generalising the opinions of a whole group of people based on their religious beliefs.

You could argue that he’s totally incorrect because it’s not 100% of the group. But realistically it’s clear that the description fits a very large percentage.

Look, at the end of the day, the likes of Nigel have and will probably always exist. 100 years ago, he would be talking about Jews. Now, it’s Muslims. In 100 years, it will be a new group. The constant is this variant of the “conservative” mindset. It’s funny because I am pretty conservative myself. In how I live my life, not in how I want others to live.

There is a genuine problem with elements of British Muslims ** however it’s sad that there are no rational voices in this space and its left vacant for figures like Farage, Anderson, Braverman etc to bulldoze their way through.
France is starting to have a national conversation about this subject***, why can’t we?
** For anyone in any doubt, please see Guardian 2016 poll on British Muslims and the JL Partners 2024 poll. The data is there in black and white.

He’s not lying though, this is coming from someone who grew up Muslim and lived in a Muslim majority area in the UK.

He speaks sense. Yet the left instantly throw out racist.
The data shows younger Muslims more likely to support Hamas / think Oct Terrorist attack justified / against LGBT / treatment of women.
They don’t share our values.

So what’s the goal here? For people who agree with him that nearly all Muslims are “against British values”, what do you want to see happen?

Is this the same Farage who bet against the pound the night of the EU referendum? The same Farage who can’t even be bothered to stand for election in his own country when he himself is the owner of a political party and instead wants to whore himself out to Trump? Yeah, some British values there

Pretty sure I’m against what he thinks are British values, and I’m British.

He is obviously correct lmao. What is it with Redditors deliberately ignoring obvious realities just because someone they don’t like said it?
It is beyond moronic and just makes you look absolutely thick as mince. Grow up.

Can someone define “British” values that are unique to this country?

Farage’s crocodile tears: he fought for Brexit, leading to a collapse in European immigration, which has been replaced in droves by people that scare him.
Yet something is lost in that conversation, including what Farage said and its base misinterpretation by Trevor Phillips ( or a post title that is slightly misleading):
– Farage points out that 46% of young Muslims support Hamas. That’s clearly not compatible with British values and just the same Galloway’s Workers Party values are not British.
– So, a portion of Muslims hold values that do not appear compatible with British values. It makes sense to be aware of it, and to know there is higher causation probability from tribal and fundamentalist approaches to Islam with opposing British values
– That doesn’t mean in any way that Islam and Muslims are not compatible only that Britain had better be extra careful with a growing minority within that community. And take measures.
Now, if we look at crime statistics, the fact that the probability of committing a crime and going to jail is much higher in males than females hasn’t led to discrimination of males in general: I don’t feel at risk when I cross a policeman. It’s a fact that a small portion of males makes up most of the criminal community , so it’s worth working on that group to try and dissuade them from a life of crime.
PS Trevor Phillips answer that this is offensive to him and a community is in the zeitgeist. Truth is sometimes offensive and it may make sense facing it rather than to ignore it because of it.

I teach music in a primary school. Two Muslim pupils informed 9 band members (guitars, piano) that was they were doing was ‘haram’. All of the 9 Muslim band members felt shamed into quitting the band. It was very sad as they were all talented.

I’m glad people are done with the bullshit and aren’t denying or covering up these issues. Now let’s see if the mainstream media and politicians can align their views with the British public instead of pushing a minority agenda.
