I don’t agree with the arrests but I think this was a foolish thing to do.
Trump is a petty, vindictive man who also happens to be *the most powerful man in the world^TM*, it is not by any means outside the realm of possibility that humiliation like this could result in dire consequences for the UK

I mean it’s Orwellian in that he thought the police always enforce what the government wants and what the public will let them get away with, not the law as written. I think he would see this kind of action as par for the course rather than a sinister invention?

What exactly is malicious? Not liking the message is one thing it’s not harmful or threatening or offensive.
They’ve been arrested to stop further protest in the short term.
Led by Donkeys should start a fundraiser to sue for wrongful arrest, then use whatever money they gain from that lawsuit to do more of this the next time Trump visits.
Where are the patriots protecting our women and children protesting the arrival of a sex criminal into the UK?
Has become pretty normalised behaviour for the British government. Arrest protesters on obviously spurious charges, release after event is over.
They did the same for the coronation.
