  1. It was 2:43:15 AM when my dream of shooting the International Space Station in front of the moon finally came true!

After years of wanting this image, everything finally lined up – the ISS flew in front of the moon at a speed of 16,508 miles per hour, transiting the moon for merely 0.67 of a second.

    [I did a full write-up on the shot here, if you’re interested!](https://mikeab.kit.com/posts/i-finally-did-it?_gl=1*1rr3fi*_gcl_au*MTcyMTYwNzM5MC4xNzU4NDg1ODMxLjMyMjAxNjYxMi4xNzU4NDg1ODQwLjE3NTg0ODU4NDA.)

[Also, video of the transit here](https://photos.app.goo.gl/km8wzc3e9cwvQkpt9)

  2. What I particularly like is that the moon actually looks spherical. Many pictures of the moon often appear very flat. Yours has spatiality, depth.

  3. Okay seriously what equipment is needed to get into this kind of hobby. That’s probably the coolest thing I’ve seen for space!!!

This is the most incredible image I have ever seen. There is something mystical and at the same time completely logical. It has balance, depth, breadth, and something mysterious about it. This is *art*. Congratulations
