People rejecting vaccination because of “better with natural immunity” and “insert conspiracy here” should be singled out and thrown away. They would reject a cure for cancer and see to that nobody else got it either.

Unbelievably frustrating as it impacts others as well as those refusing the vaccine. Wider spread of illness and increased strain on the NHS from these vaccine dodgers taking up beds and resources when they get ill.
How on earth do these dumb shit conspiracy theories take a hold on society. If you are offered a vaccine it’s your civic duty to take it to protect yourself and others.

On a positive – if they contract flu and die they’ll be unable to vote reform…

I want it I just find it difficult to get. Last time I booked an appointment to get one and waited over an hour to get it. I ended up leaving at the hour mark because I had to get back to work.

Why are fewer people having the flu vaccine? It could be distrust of the authorities, lack of concern about flu, personal risk assessment, or other factors. If the vaccine is important, perhaps there should be more research on why people aren’t taking it.

Pardon my ignorance, but is the flu vaccine necessary? My understanding is that it’s not like COVID. It’s unlikely to kill you unless you’re vulnerable, old or a baby. I’ve never had the vaccine and have had flu twice without serious problems. If someone can educate me, I’ll consider otherwise

I have all the jabs that are offered, but I do know someone who had a stroke a day after her Covid jab, and she was only 21 at the time. I still had more Covid jabs after that but understandably she’s very wary. Unfortunately she told lots of people who are now against vaccines. I’m not sure how you convince them that the odds are extremely slim, and it may well have been a coincidence. They simply won’t believe it.

This article conveniently leaves out the fact thay covid vaccines are not offered over 65 anymore, only above 75. Without any scientific explanation. It’s “trust the government, don’t ask any questions”. That is what leads to loss of trust, along with other actions also eroding trust.
I used to believe the old “they’re only giving you last year’s flu, it’s not going to help this year.” and declined the yearly vaccinations; I was younger (and still dumb) at the time too and didn’t know better.
Then one year I got the flu over winter that took me out for a month, I inadvertently gave it to a coworker before I got signed off and they were in a very bad way from it. Now I just get them, better safe than sorry.

Our local GPs advertise flu jabs to the elderly, the young, pregnant women and the vulnerable. Even if you wanted one as a healthy adult, they say it’s not recommended…
